Plastics by givenchy

the page above is from july's US VOGUE. editor virginia smith presents those colourful PVC gladiator sandal + is totally enthousiastic about them

Riccardo Tisci from Givenchy says " i wanted this shoe to be more accessible in terms of price and practicality, they are comfortable, colourful and under $200"

is it just me? i'm sorry guys but i just can't get it! has the world gone mad? it's plastic! don't get me wrong, i totally like the sandals but again it's plastic. the price alone is not a problem- sure we can spend $170 and buy designer shoes- but $170 for PVC?

green is not a colour

1. am i the only one who adores such statements on t-shirts? such simple truths which when stated become impossibly powerfull???

i totally fell for this t-shirt- it's a white tee after all, one can never get enough... actually i just bought it:)

CARE- stella mccartney

2. i always thought the add above poetical- "one touch of nature makes the whole world kin" shakespeare said.

the idea of green cosmetics is certainly not new, "thank you body shop for introducing "community trade" decades ago."

vogue- the gree issue

3. Diaz never stops to amaze me! apart from her wardrobe choices and her bold statements ( "... i don't have children + not all women feel the need to have- it's their total right...", she is a steadfast environmentalist and a role model for those seeking a greener lifestyle

this is the trailer for her new documentary

4. one should never forget the bag above - a simple tote, which i believe shook the fashion world whith it's statement

5. gigele poses in this magnificent loyale aqua blue bikini-loyale introduces low impact dye- a lot less chemical intensive, which is better for the environment and the people who work with it:)

who said organic has to be white?

what i need to ask- is it me or organic usually comes with a higher price?

prada transformer

most of the times i think about fashion, i stop thinking about it + immediatelly start nagging at my parents blaming them that they didn't let me study it, but instead made me choose architecture.
after millions of hours spent in autocad, cursing every living creature around me + many many too many models, i almost think i like it- i am seriously thinking of combining FASHION + ARCHITECTURE later on and studying sth new

that is why when i found this article on designboom, i had to share it with you

prada and rem koolhaas’s OMA have unveiled their latest project the ‘prada transformer’. the structure is
designed to accommodate a series of events in seoul, south korea from march to july 2009. the tetrahedron
has four different configurations which can simply be switched by rotating the structure with construction
cranes. the structure is thus designed so floors can become walls and walls become ceilings. the ‘prada
transformer’ will be realized with the support of LG electronics, hyundai motor company and red resource
and it will be located next to the traditional 16th century kyeonghee palace in seoul.

this is what mr koolhaas, famous starchitect said

‘the interesting thing about this building is the acknowledgement of the transformer as a dynamic organism,
opposed to simply a static object, which arbitrarily fits program. prada transformer helps add an extra
dimension regarding the treatment of this typology by allowing it to be moulded in real time, depending on the
specific programs it intends to facilitate inside.
